On the eve of the merger with CVO M&T Merchtem-Ternat, which will take effect on September 1, 2019, CVO Kisp continues to expand. CVO VTI Lier-Antwerp, CVO Technicum Noord–Antwerp, and CVO Kisp will join forces under the name Volwassenenonderwijs Kisp (Adult Education Kisp) starting in the 2020-2021 school year. Today, Monday, June 24, 2019, the three adult education centers officially signed the merger in the presence of the secretary-general of Katholiek Onderwijs Vlaanderen (Catholic Education Flanders).

 

Within the framework of the new education decree for adult education, cvo Kisp – with a strong presence in East Flanders and Flemish Brabant – is expanding its provincial boundaries to Antwerp and Lier. The range of courses and teaching locations offered by Cvo VTI Lier-Antwerp and Cvo Technicum Noord – Antwerp (Cvo TNA) will remain unchanged.

Stephan Devreese, general director at Adult Education Kisp, is already looking forward to the merger: “As a strong center for adult education, we will offer nearly 15,500 students practical training or workshops each year at no fewer than 15 campuses with more than 600 employees and teachers.” He adds: “The coming school year will involve a lot of consultation and a thorough exchange of expertise so that we can be well prepared for the start in September 2020.”

As with previous and current collaborations, Adult Education Kisp strives to ensure that the local anchoring of the CVOs is respected and that the centers can count on strong central support.
